Mountain Pines Ski Resort and Lodge
Mountain Pines Ski Resort and Lodge is a recreational destination located in Lutsen, Minnesota, where people of all ages can enjoy hitting the slopes, cozying up next to a fire, or sipping on coffee with friends and family. The resort features a coffee bar where people can get their morning energy boost or a mid-day pick-me-up to keep them going all day long. The resort will also provide a home-away-from-home, comforting and inviting environment with the use of warm wood tones and a neutral color palette, and will help any guest escape the reality of the outside world.

Project Goals
Functional Goals
1. Offices located adjacent to reception.
2. Rental center to be separate from main lodge.
3. Coffee bar centralized between lodge and rental center.
4. Fireplaces incorporated into lounge space.
5. Separate delivery entrance and storage for coffee bar.
Aesthetic Goals
1. Lounge space will include soft furnishings and materials.
2. Bright lighting to be incorporated to make the space feel more open.
3. Warm toned colors will make the space feel welcoming.
4. Tall ceilings will make the space appear larger.
5. Multi-toned wood paneling will give off a cozy feeling.
Sustainable Goals
1. Use of locally reclaimed wood for wall paneling.
2.Reduce energy with occupancy sensors in main lobby, lounge, and rental center.
3. Incorporated use of natural lighting through large windows.
4. Use of ACT, carpet tiles, and upholstery for reduction of noise.
